Alemanha - a noiva transporta sal e pão no seu bolso para assegurar recompensa, o noivo transporta grãos de cereais, para dar saúde e sorte.

Os ingleses acreditam que se a noiva encontrar uma aranha no vestido de casamento, esta trará sorte ao casal.
Na tradição inglesa, a quarta-feira é considerado  o melhor dia da semana para casar.

Itália - o noivo transporta um pequeno objeto de ferro no bolso, para afugentar o mal olhado.

Japão - os números 9 (eternidade), 8 (prosperidade), 6 (fortuna) e 2 (harmonia).
O  casal de noivos bebe 9 goles de sake, tornando-se marido e mulher a partir do primeiro gole. O  branco foi utilizado para as noivas, muito antes da Rainha Victoria o ter popularizado no mundo ocidental.

México - a noiva não usa  pérolas, porque simbolizam as lágrimas que chorará durante a sua vida de casada.

Marrocos - as mulheres marroquinas tomam um banho de leite para se purificarem antes da cerimônia do casamento.

Turquia - antes da  noiva  sair da igreja, pede às suas amigas solteiras para escreverem os seus nomes na sola dos seus sapatos. Depois da noite de dança, a tradição dita que a assinatura da pessoa que estiver mais gasta será a próxima pessoa a casar.

Oriente Médio - as noivas pintam motivos henna nas  suas mãos e pés para as proteger do mau olhado.
